Facilities
At the Bush Combat Development Complex (BCDC), we aid in transforming laboratory concepts into field-ready technologies that address our nation’s most pressing challenges.
Our integrated ecosystem of advanced labs and test ranges accelerates the development, prototyping, and deployment of emerging capabilities for multi-domain operations and decision sciences. Purpose-built for applied research in real-world conditions, our facilities bridge the gap between concept and combat.

RESEARCH
INTEGRATION CENTER
The Research Integration Center (RIC) is the “nerve center” of BCDC’s innovation ecosystem—a state-of-the-art hub where researchers, students, industry partners, and military stakeholders collaborate to accelerate emerging technologies. Designed to support applied research across domains, the RIC enables rapid, hands-on development, direct support, and seamless capability integration—advancing ideas from concept toward fielded technology.
INNOVATION PROVING
GROUNDS
The Innovation Proving Grounds (IPG) is a diverse testing arena with outdoor sites for autonomous, manned, and hybrid aerial, ground, and subterranean vehicles. These systems integrate networks, sensors, and advanced operating technologies, enabling rigorous validation and experimentation in complex, realistic conditions.
The BAM Range is the
largest and most fully instrumented facility of its kind in the united states
BALLISTIC,
AERO-OPTICS,
& MATERIALS RANGE
The Ballistic, Aero-optics, & Materials (BAM) Range is a one-of-a-kind facility supporting hypersonics and directed energy research. Featuring a one-kilometer-long, above-ground tunnel with a two-meter diameter equipped with integrated sensors, this advanced range delivers critical data on high-speed flight dynamics and material performance under extreme conditions.
